Hello faithful readers,
Three days into 2012 … have you kept up with your New Year’s resolutions so far? As we all know, most people do not achieve the results they desire. In my view, this is due to the fact that many fail to go into a year (or other significant goals) with the right mental attitude. You too, must enter each significant effort knowing that although you cannot control the outcomes, but that you can control the inputs. One of the inputs is the right mental attitude.
“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” — Thomas Jefferson
So what did Thomas Jefferson mean by right mental attitude? He meant optimism, confidence. You must believe that you will be successful, before you start. “But wait a minute!” you say, “How can I know?” You must convince your mind that success is guaranteed. Your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between reality and that which is vividly imagined. Soooo, vividly imagine the desired outcome and you’re half way home. Use positive affirmations daily to drum positive thoughts into your mind. Please trust me on this. It works.
The other side of realizing your objectives is to put a plan together – schedule massive, sustained action. Put it into your calendar. Every week – possibly every day.
Just to be clear, let me repeat: Put. Massive. Action. Into. Your. Calendar.
Hire or recruit someone to hold you accountable. Give them permission to hold you accountable. Here’s an idea: recruit someone that also needs you to serve as an accountability partner for them. My challenge to you? Write down the daily affirmations that will keep you armed with the right mental attitude. If you need some ideas, drop me a line.
All the best for a prosperous 2012,
By the way, I don’t charge extra for typos. They are my gift to you.
